The John Muir Way Tartan Celebrates 10 Years !
21st April 2024 Marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of the John Muir Way.
The 215Km route stretches from John Muirs Scottish birthplace of Dunbar on the East coast, to the West coast town of Helensburgh where the Muir family departed on their emigration to the United States of America.
The route planned by Scottish Natural Heritage celebrates Muirs life & legacy, covering coastal, rural and urban landscapes in its path, reflecting his endeavours as a farmer, naturalist, botanist, inventor, explorer, mountaineer, writer and pioneer of nature conservation.

As proud designers of this commemorative tartan design, we launched the John Muir Way Tartan and a small range of handmade products from a pop-up shop on Dunbars High Street in 2014, amidst much celebration and memorable fun.
Many Muirs...
10 years later, it feels very fitting indeed to celebrate the first decade of this popular route and its representative tartan by hosting another pop-up shop on Dunbar High Street, just yards from John Muirs childhood home. And so we invite you to join us "In the Neighbourhood" at 108 High Street, Dunbar, East Lothian to celebrate a decade of the John Muir Way and the beautiful tartan designed to honour the legacy of one of Dunbars most influential sons.
